Minority to present “true State of the Nation Address” today

The Minority in Parliament will today, Monday March 9, 2015, present its version of the State of the Nation Address.

The opposition’s presentation dubbed: “The true State of the Nation Address” which will be delivered by the Minority leader, Osei Kyei Mensa-Bonsu is expected to critique some of the issues raised by President John Mahama in his 3rd State of the Nation Address to the House a fortnight ago.

Speaking to Starr News on today’s address, the minority spokesperson on finance Dr Mark Asigbey Yeboah said the minority will reveal to Ghanaians the true state of the nation in their address.

“When the President started speaking, he talked about road infrastructure and we were thinking he would speak about the economy but he didn’t.

“The economy is the fulcrum of the nation and he shied away from speaking about it.

“He started with energy and we thought he was going to speak about the economy but he didn’t.

“Last year his opening remarks were that the fundamentals of the economy are strong, but this year he said nothing about it.

“What he did in that address on the economy this year is a joke,” he stated.
