Legislative business was today disrupted as many members of the minority caucus failed to turn up in parliament.
It is unclear why the minority members could not show up but Starr News’ parliamentary correspondent Kobby Mensah Gomez reports that the development brought the House to a standstill.
Mensah Gomez added that the few members who made it on the minority side were seen at the coffee shop of the House after a quorum standoff ensued between members.
MP for Tema East Titus Glover was first to raise concerns about the lean numbers in the chamber and also pushed for the suspension of business until a quorum was secured. The move was supported by the deputy minority leader Dominic Nitiwul.
The House was expected to begin the debate on the 2016 budget presented by the finance minister Seth Tepker.
