Minority Leader asks ministers not to play politics with answers

Accra, June 12, GNA – Mr Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu Minority Leader in Parliament on Friday asked Ministers of State who answer questions on the floor of Parliament to avoid attaching political strings and twists to their answers.

“If you choose that path we (Minority) will play hard ball with you,” he said.

Mr Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu made the request when Mr Joe Gidisu Roads and Highways Minister appeared before the house. He made the remarks in response to Mr Gidisu’s accusation of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Administration for putting political pressure on contractors to increase the cost of projects, which resulted in high expenditure.

Mr Gidisu insisted that the high cost of road projects was political pressures which were mounted on contractors, adding: “This was replete in the NPP regime”. 12 June 10
