Minority lauds government

Accra, Aug. 2, GNA – The Minority in Parliament has welcomed government’s decision to hold wider consultations with stakeholders before the passage of the National Health Insurance Bill.

A statement signed on Friday by Mr Alban Bagbin, Minority Leader, stated the minority’s intention to actively participate in the process of regional consultations and various processes that would lead to the establishment of a National Health Insurance Scheme.

It said the Minority considered it necessary to summon the Members of Parliament on the joint committee on Health and Finance for them to deliberate on an appropriate programme for holding these regional consultations.

The statement urged government to focus on the course.
