Ministry wishes SSSCE candidates well

Accra, June 30, GNA – The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports wishes all candidates success in the forthcoming Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE), urging them to put up good performance to improve upon the position of their various schools.

“All candidates should be challenged by the publication in the newspapers of last year’s SSSCE results and put up good performance to improve upon the position of their various schools and the entire results,” said a release from the Ministry.

It said the Ministry expected to get value for the huge sums of money spent by government on subsidies and textbook user fees. In the 2003-04 academic year, the government approved 87.5 billion cedis as subsidies for the first, second and third terms, respectively. Similarly, it absorbed the textbook user fee of 12.6 billion cedis for the three terms during the same period, according to the release.
