MINISTRY OF WORKS & HOUSING ORGANISES SEMINAR ON PRIVATE PARTICIPATION OF THE WATER SECTOR

The Ministry of Works and Housing will organise a one-day Seminar for workers of Ghana Water and Sewerage Corporation on October 27, 1997 at Accra Tema Metropolitan Area Office, (ATMA) near 37 Military Hospital. The theme for the occasion is “Increased private Sector Participation In the Water Sector: Addressing the interest of the GWSC workers”. The holding of the Seminar is in response to concerns expressed by the public on the recent statement made by the Minister of Works and Housing on the intention of the government to encourage private participation in the supply of water. Topics to be discussed include “the role of private capital”, “an overview of the water industry”, “the rehabilitation of the Water Sector”, managing the process of Private Sector participation”, and “a conducive environment for private sector participation – view of the worker”.
