Ministry donates to children’s ward

Wa, Mar 3, GNA – The Ministry of Women and Children’s Affairs on Wednesday donated a quantity of powdered milk valued at 10 million cedis to the Wa Regional hospital children’s ward.

Presenting the items on behalf of the Ministry, Mrs. Kate Bob-Milliar, Upper West Regional Co-ordinator of National Council on Women and Development (NCWD) said the donation formed part of their plans to assist children to grow up to be responsible adults. She said the future depended solely on the youth and there was therefore, the need to prop them up by way of making them comfortable to undertake responsible ventures at then formation stages. Accompanied by Mrs. Clare Der, Regional Co-ordinator of Ghana National Commission on Children, Mrs. Bob-Milliar urged the hospital authorities not to hesitate to ask for assistance anytime there was that need.

Dr. Felix Ahorsu, Acting Medical Director of the Wa Regional hospital, who received the items commended the Ministry for the gesture. He said the intervention was timely in view of the fact that most parents could not provide balance diets for their sick children.
