Ministry directs Heads of SHS, technical institutes to refund fees

The Ministry of Education has directed that heads of Senior High Schools (SHS) and Technical Institutes, who collected three terms boarding and examination fees from parents, should refund the amount with immediate effect.

This was contained in a statement signed by Mr. Paul K. Krampa, Director of Public Relation of the Ministry, copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Monday.

It said: “We wish to state that under no circumstances should any Head demand three terms boarding and exams fees from any student.”

The statement said: “Any Head caught flouting this directive would be severely dealt with by the Ministry.”

It stressed: “Heads are once again reminded to collect boarding fees on termly basis since that is the approved method of collecting of fees.”
