Minister warns against indiscipline

Bolgatanga, July 10, GNA – Mr. Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports has warned that the Ministry would not tolerate indiscipline in schools.

Mr. Baah-Wiredu g ave the warning during working visits to Zuarungu senior secondary school, (ZUSS), Bolgatanga secondary school, (BIG BOSS), Zamse secondary technical school and Bolgatanga Girls secondary school (BOGISS), all in the Bolgatanga Municipality. He urged the students to use dialogue instead of violence to redress their grievances.

He said girls in the second cycle schools were to enjoy a 60 per cent scholarship from a 9.2 billion cedis Ghana Education Trust Fund. He encouraged organisers of the school and colleges sports festivals to unearth talented sportsmen and women to represent the region.

He announced that high performance centres of various disciplines would be opened in all secondary schools to award scholarships to students who wish to pursue sports as a career.
