Minister visits family of gas explosion victim

Ashaiman July 27, GNA – Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, the Minister of Local Government and Employment, has appealed to the Municipal Chief Executives of Tema and Ashaiman to liaise with the Tema Hospital and come out with modalities for the supply of logistics to ensure a speedy recovery of the gas explosion victims.

Mr Ofosu-Ampofo said this when he visited relatives of the deceased, Baba Issaka, 35, at his residence at Zenu in Ashaiman to express the government’s condolence to the bereaved family.

He donated Gc500 to the bereaved family.

A gas explosion, suspected to have occurred in a friend rice joint on Monday, killed one person, injured 16 people and destroyed 10 shops.

Mr Ofosu-Ampofo was accompanied Mr Alfred Kwame Agbesi, the Member of Parliament for Ashaiman, Mr Robert Kempes Papa Nii Ofosuware, Municipal Chief Executive for Tema and Nene Adinortey Addison, the Municipal Chief Executive for Ashaiman.
