Minister urges effective supervision in schools

Mr. Paul Evans Aidoo, the Western Regional Minister, has called for the strengthening of supervision in senior high schools (SHS) to help check acts of indiscipline.

He said the heads should do everything to ensure that both the teachers and students operated strictly within the confines of school rules and regulations.

This he noted, was the path to academic success.

Mr. Aidoo was addressing the 46th anniversary and speech and prize-giving day of the Bibiani Senior High Technical School at Bibiani.

“Striving for excellence, challenges and the way forward” was the theme for the event.

The Minister repeated the government’s commitment towards creating the right conditions to allow for effective teaching and learning.

It was in line with this that it had started the construction of a six unit classroom block and a two-storey boys’ dormitory for the SHS.

Mr. Akwasi Agyemang- Antwi, the Headmaster, said the school needs an administrative block, dining and assembly halls as well as accommodation for the teachers.

He used the occasion to express appreciation to the parent-teacher association (PTA) and the district assembly for their immense support.
