Minister of the Interior renews curfew on Gushegu Township

Accra, Sept. 6, GNA – The Minister of the Interior, Dr Benjamin Kunbuor, has by Executive Instrument renewed the curfew imposed on the Gusehegu Township and its immediate environs with effect from Monday, September 5.

The curfew hours are from 12.00 midnight to 0400 hours.

A statement issued to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Monday signed by the Minister said the action was on the advice of the Northern Regional Security Council.

It said government was very much encouraged by the return of relative peace to the Gushegu Township and its immediate environs and wished to appeal to all stakeholders to continue to ensure that lasting and sustainable peace returned to its communities.

The Government reiterated that there was a ban on all persons in the Gushegu Township and its immediate environs from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapons and that any person found with any arms or ammunition would be arrested and prosecuted
