Mr Julius Debrah, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, has inspected works on the street naming projects in the Adentan Municipality.
The Minister visited Duratech Signs, which is one of the companies contracted to build synergies for the street naming projects.
Mr Debrah expressed satisfaction with the rate of work carried out by the Adentan Municipal Chief Executive, to meet the deadline of the project, even though he has been in office for a short period.
He said the street naming projects come with many advantages such as providing easy access to locations especially in times of disaster and easy delivery of postings, hence the instruction by President John Dramani Mahama to get it done throughout the country within 18 months.
Mr Debrah said it is encouraging that most of the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) are working assiduously to ensure that they meet the September 30 deadline.
He said it would however be an indictment on the chief executives of the MMDAs who fail to meet the deadline, especially when they have been given enough time to do so.
Mr Debrah advised the public to cooperate with the Assemblies, since the street naming project is not an event but a process.
Mr Benjamin B. Angenu, Adentan Municipal Chief Executive, said 968 street names have been approved by the Assembly.
Mr Mike Kwaku Ankrah, Production Manager at Duratech Signs, gave the assurance that the company would be able to meet the deadline given to it.
