Minister inspects GETFund road projects

Komenda (C/R), Sept. 23, GNA – The Central Regional Minister, Nana Ato Arthur, on Monday inspected GETFund projects in some senior high and technical schools in the Cape Coast metropolis and the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) municipality. He was accompanied by the Regional Director of Education, Ms Rosemond Blay, and the Regional Architect of the AESL, Mr Richard Osei Amanfo. The minister inspected a three-storey girls’ dormitory at Komenda Secondary Technical School where the site manager, Mr Ernest Obo-Adu of Adjei Constructions, contractors of the project, told him that it would be handed over to the school in the next two weeks. A block of flats is being built for tutors at the school and the headmaster, Mr David Nicholas Bonney, expressed the hope that it would be completed on schedule. Nana Arthur visited Eguafo Senior High and Komenda Training College where a girls’ dormitory and teachers’ flats are being constructed respectively. He inspected similar projects at Adisadel, St Augustine’s, Cape Coast Deaf and Efutu Senior High schools all and handed over a pick-up donated by the GETFund to Efutu Senior High. At Adisadel a four-storey eight unit block of flats for tutors at the cost of GH¢600,000 has reached the lintel level while work on the extension of the head master’s bungalow is progressing. At Cape Deaf the GETFund projects including block of flats for teachers, a girls’ dormitory to accommodate about 200 girls at the cost of GH¢500,000 and a vocational complex are almost complete. Nana Arthur visited Holy Child and Mfantsipim schools, OLA Training College where he inspected work on a science laboratory, an extension of an assembly hall and block of flats for tutors. He also inspected the 3.4 kilometre Cape Coast Polytechnic/Yamoah road and the 15-kilometre road from Efutu to Agona at the cost of GH¢1.8 million. He expressed satisfaction with work on the 3.7-kilometre road from Ataabadze junction to Ankwanda.
