Minister inaugurates police headquarters and MOFA Office

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr. Peter Anarfi-Mensah, has inaugurated two projects in the Amansie Central District – an office block for the Food and Agriculture (MOFA) and a District Police Headquarters with a pledge of government’s determination to work hard to bring socio-economic progress.

He therefore called on the people to give it the needed support to carry through its development agenda.

Both projects are located in Jacobu – the district capital.

The MOFA building was started in year 2007 and was completed with 100 per cent funding by the government, whilst that of the Police Headquarters was completed by the assembly with its share of the Common Fund.

Mr. Anarfi-Mensah was on a day’s visit to the area to assess how government’s resources were helping to transform the lives of the people.

He noted that the permanent office accommodation for the agricultural officers would help to improve extension services to farmers and boost crop production.

He commended the assembly for the police headquarters and said it would assure the people of adequate security protection.

He, however, asked that it re-doubled its effort at mobilizing resources to finish the remaining works on its administration block.

Mr. Anarfi-Mensah later performed the ceremony for construction works to begin on a six classroom block for the African Faith Primary School and sanitation facilities in Jacobu.

He asked the assembly to do everything to make sure that these projects were completed on schedule, adding that, there should also be value for money.

Mr. Emmanuel Dede Appiah, the District Chief Executive (DCE), appealed for the tarring of roads in the district capital.
