Minister donates to Ridge Hospital Children’s ward

Nii Armah Ashietey, Minister of Employment and Labour Relations donated fruit drinks to the inmates of Ridge Hospital Children’s ward.

The minister also presented an undisclosed amount of money to the Nurses in the ward for their selfless and dedication in taking care of the children in the hospital.

Nii Ashietey said the gesture was to show love and care in the Christmas season and wishing the inmates speedy recovery of their various illnesses.

“The children are the future leaders and that there is the need to extend our love to them as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and it behooves on all to also donate to children who are in need,” he added.

He said government was committed to supporting the health system in the delivery of quality health care, since the health of all was critical to the development of the country.

Nii Ashietey urged parents to be responsible and invest in their wards education and stop excessive spending on funerals and marriage ceremonies.

In a related development, Melcom Group of Companies also donated drinks and sweets to the children.

Ms Margaret Kyei, in charge of Ridge Hospital Children’s Ward thanked the donors for their presentations and assured them that, the items would be used for its intended purposes and appealed to other organizations to emulate the kind gestures of the donors.
