Minister donates items to Children’s Hospital

Accra, May 13, GNA – Mrs Julian Azumah-Mensah, Minister for Women and Children’s Affairs, on Thursday donated assorted items to the Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital to cater for the needs patients.

The items included rice, sugar, cooking oil, canned tomatoes and soap. Mrs Azumah-Mensah said the donation was part of the Ministry’s social responsibility to show appreciation to the administration of the Hospital for their service and also cater for the needs of the children in the Hospital.

The Minister said government believed that children were the future leaders and therefore their health should be a concern for all and sundry in the development of the country.

She said the Ministry in partnership with Plan Ghana renovated the Children’s Hospital last year in the quest to respond to the needs of the Hospital.

Mrs Azumah-Mensah said government would work hard to complete the children’s theatre to enhance health delivery.

Mrs Christian Adzam, Head of Nursing at the Hospital, thanked the Minister for the donation and appealed to other public spirited individuals and organisations to donate to the Hospital to save the lives of children.

Mrs Adzam appealed to the government to encourage fathers to be responsible to ease the burden on single mothers.
