Minister donates computers to St Francis School

Akim Oda (E/R), Dec. 30, GNA- The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Mr Yaw Osafo-Maafo, has donated two computers and their accessories valued at about 30 million cedis to St. Francis Secondary School at Akim Oda.

Mr Osafo-Maafo who is also the MP for Akim Oda, said the donation of the items was his personal contribution towards enhancing computer literacy of the students.

He promised the school of 250 million cedis towards the construction of teachers’ bungalows as well as the fencing of the school.

On behalf of the school, the Birim South District Director of Education, Mrs Stella K. Nanor, who received the items thanked the Minister for the gesture.

She urged the students to attach importance to computer training to enhance their marketability after school.

The Headmaster of the school, Mr Dominic Acquah, appealed to the District Assembly to assist in rehabilitating the road leading to the school.
