Minister debunks allegation on Ghana Telecom

The Minister of Communication and Technology, Mr. Felix Owusu Adjapong, has debunked the allegation that due to some political reasons Ghana Telecom for two years has been operating without a Managing Director.

Mr. Felix Owusu Adjapong explained that Ghana Telecom is a limited liability company with government only owning shares in the company, hence, it has no full control over the running of the company.

He said government has a say when it comes to the appointment of board of directors, adding that, after the Malaysians left, the government helped in the appointment of a nine member board of directors with government appointing six as against three from the Management of Ghana Telecom.

Mr. Owusu Adjapong said this when he addressed the press at a media encounter with the telecom operators recently.
