Minister condemns unruly behaviour of the youth

Accra, March 30, GNA – Ms Akua Sena Dansua, Minister of Youth and Sports has condemned the unruly behaviour of a section of the youth in the country.

In a statement issued in Accra on Tuesday and signed by Mr Kofi Aggrey, the Ministry’s Public Relations Manager, Ms Dansua appealed to the youth to exercise restraint and seek redress for their grievances at the appropriate quarters instead of resorting to violence.

The statement said: “The Ministry is appalled by what could be described as unruly behaviour, vandalism and even threats to human lives over matters that could easily be resolved through, existing mechanism within political parties and also by the police.” It reminded the youth of government’s strong abhorrence for acts of impunity and cautioned that if such acts are not stopped, the law would be enforced against the perpetrators, no matter who was involved. The statement said government had taken measures to provide education and skills training to the youth and urged them not to do anything that would detract effort at empowering them for leadership positions in the country.
