Minister Condemns Democrat Story

The Minister for Works and Housing and MP for Gukpegu-Sabongida now Tamale South Constituency, in the Northern Region, Alhaji Mustapha Ali Idris, has rubbished the leading story of the October 18-20 issue of the National Democrat captioned ?Guns in Coffins?, and described as preposterous the allegation made in the story that the National Security Council, aided by the Government, is ?shipping? guns to the north to destabilize the place in the run-up to the election.

The Minister, who was reacting to the Democrat story in Tamale said it would be very stupid for the Government after spending billions of cedis to bring peace to the north following the death of the Ya-Na and again spend billions of cedis on guns to destabilise the place the same government had worked so hard to maintain peace and normalize thing there.

The Minister maintained that the NPP has demonstrated clearly that it is a government of peace and development and will never do anything to undermine peace anywhere in the country.
