Minister cautions against use of his name

Kumasi, July 4, GNA – Mr. Sampson Kwaku Boafo, Ashanti Regional Minister has cautioned all those using his name for favours to desist from such a practice forthwith.

He has also asked the public to be wary of such people whose intend were to cause mischief, disaffection for him and destroy his hard won reputation.

A release issued by the Ashanti Regional Co-ordinating Council and signed by Mr Samuel Kofi Frimpong, the acting Public Relations Officer and copied to the press on Monday, said the attention of the Regional Minister had been drawn to the activities of some unscrupulous persons who have been going round using his name to receive favours from unsuspecting people.

It said some people even went to the extent of extorting money, while others claim that he (RM) had authorised them to build at some sites, locate kiosks and should be given permit for certain commercial purposes.

The release said the Regional Minister would be grateful if people could clear requests made on his behalf by any person before acceding to grant them the request.

It further admonished those people involved in such unpatriotic acts to stop them since henceforth anyone caught using the Regional Minister’s name for any nefarious activity would be dealt with according to the law.
