Minister calls for reflections on development policy to cast votes

Asokore (E/R), Nov. 15, GNA – The Minister of The Interior, Mr Hackman Owusu-Agyemang has called on the electorate to reflect on the numerous development projects in their communities and the improved living conditions brought by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) before casting their votes on polling day.

Mr Owusu-Agyemang, Member of Parliament of new Juabeng North, was adressing a political rally at Asokore, near Koforidua, on Sunday to seek the renewal of his mandate for another four-year term. He said such an assessment would enable the electorate to choose between the good governance of the NPP and the bad one of National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Mr Owusu-Agyemang urged the people in the Constituency to increase their votes for him and President John Agyekum Kufuor to the more than the 70 per cent they gave them during Election 2000.

He referred to the development projects undertaken during his tenure of office for the community, including a community library; school blocks and the establishment of an Entrepreneurship Training Centre for the Youth and pledged his continued service to improve their welfare.

The Special Assistant to the Minister of Regional Co-operation and NEPAD, Mr Dan Kwatia told them the image of the country under President John Agyekum Kufuor’s Administration had won the acclamation of the international community due to its good governance and foreign policies. He said the many development projects undertaken in the area by the MP and Government should amply indicate that if returned to power, much improvement in their lives would be recorded.

The New Juaben Municipal Chief Executive, Nana Kwasi Adjei Boateng, who mentioned the development projects undertaken by the NPP and sponsored by the MP, said no community in the Municipality could claim to have been neglected in the distribution of development projects. He said the good policies of the Government in agriculture had been blessed with good weather, leading to the virtual end of hunger ever since the NPP took over the reins of government four years now.
