Minister calls for closer collaboration between the Church and State.

Koforidua, Sept. 6, GNA – The Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, Miss Susana Mensah, has appealed to churches to synergize their efforts with that of government so as to make religion and governance more beneficial to humanity.

Miss Mensah was addressing a biennial conference of the Koforidua Diocese of the Methodist Students Union at Koforidua Polytechnic on Sunday.

The Deputy Minister intimated that much more development could be achieved if churches collaborated more closely with government so that the desire of the people for peace, unity and prosperity could be realized.

Miss Mensah commended the Methodist church for its investment in development activities especially in the educational sector over the years and called for similar support for other state programmes such as the National Health Insurance Scheme.
