Minister appeals to police to send unqualified relations to school

The Minister of the Interior, Mr Mark Woyongo, has advised police personnel to send their unqualified relations back to school and stop forcing them into the Police Service.

He called for the arrest of anybody found demanding money from anybody under the pretext of getting them engaged by the security services.

Mr Woyongo said recruitment into the security services would be made public and open.

He was addressing members of the security services under his Ministry at a durbar at Koforidua as part of his two-day tour of the Eastern Region.

Mr Woyongo said some persons who were recently arrested for collecting money ranging from GH¢5, 000.00 to GH¢10,000.00 in the Upper East, Greater Accra and the Volta regions are being processed for prosecution.

He said the Ministry was in talks with the heads of the security agencies for the introduction of online recruitment systems to reduce the human interference.

Mr Woyongo said the security services had performed excellently on international assignments.
