Minister Affirms Government’s Commitment To Rural Development –

Akrodie (Brong Ahafo) 19, Sept The government’s commitment to develop the rural areas under its rural development programme stems from the genuine desire to ensure that those who produce the nation’s wealth benefit from their toil. The Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Mr. David Osei-Wusu, said access to water, health, education, roads and electricity is an obligation which the government cannot deny the rural people. He was addressing separate durbars organized in his honour by the chiefs and people of Akrodie, Ayomso, Sankore Kukuom, Mim, and Goaso during a two-day tour of the Asunafo district. He said while the government is determined to live up to expectation by providing them with some of their basic facilities, the success of the rural development programme in the district, will depend on peace and unity among them. Mr. Osei-Wusu therefore called on the people to avoid squabbles, chieftaincy and land disputes to sustain the development of the area.
