Mining company assists school

Krapo (B/A), July 15, GNA – Gyata Exploration Limited, a gold mining company based at Hwidiem in the Asutifi District of Brong Ahafo, has presented building materials worth 10 million cedis towards the construction of a three-unit classroom block for the Krapo Methodist Primary School.

The materials comprised 10 packets of roofing sheets, 5 bags of cement and 10 boxes of roofing nails.

Presenting the items, Mr Mark Fleming, Project Development Manager, assured communities in the catchment area of the company’s desire to meet all social responsibility components tagged to the mining contract. He urged the communities to employ dialogue and consensus building in the event of any misunderstanding with the company.

Mr Hans Dablormeh, Assistant Director of Education at the Asutifi District Education Directorate, who received the items thanked the company and pledged that they would be put to good use.

Nana Kwame Dapaah, chief of Krapo, assured the company of the people’s readiness to co-operate in its operations so long as it complied with components of the mining contract and the general mining code.
