Mim Secondary School cries for substantive headmaster

Goaso (B/A), July 21, GNA – The Board of Directors and Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of the Mim Secondary School in the Asunafo North District of Brong Ahafo have petitioned the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports to post a substantive headmaster to the school. This was contained in a resolution adopted by the two bodies at a PTA meeting at Mim.

Mr Adom Yeboah, Chairman of the PTA, said since the transfer of the former headmaster, Mr Fosu Gyeabour to the Techiman Municipal Directorate about two years ago, the school had been without a head. He said the District Director of Education at Goaso now doubled as the acting head mistress of the school and any further delay in posting a substantive head to the school would have a negative impact on academic work.

Mr Kwame Boakye Yiadom, Assistant Headmaster, said the Member of Parliament for the area, Mr Robert Sarfo Mensah, had initiated the construction of a two-storey girls’ dormitory under GETFUND sponsorship at a cost of 1.8 billion cedis, while the PTA was constructing a KVIP at the cost of 58.7 million cedis for the male students. Mr Boakye Yiadom commended the PTA for its sacrifice and hard work towards the development of the school.
