Mills to launch new performance mg’t system

Accra, Sept. 20, GNA – President John Evans Atta Mills will launch a Policy Performance Management System for Government on Thursday September 29.

A statement signed in Accra on Tuesday by Dr Tony Aidoo, Head of Policy Evaluation and Oversight Unit at the Office of the President, said it had completed work on the new Performance Management System for Government.

The Unit was established two years ago, and mandated to create and periodically update a National Databank on the policies, programmes and projects being implemented for government by the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as well as the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs).

The statement explained that the Unit also monitored through performance tracking, implementation of the policies, programmes and projects.

“We have been tasked with the responsibility to evaluate the results and assess the developmental impact of policies being implemented, the programmes and projects of government in order to provide the Presidency with advisory opinions on the overall performance and achievements of the MDAs and MMDAs, relative to the NDC Government’s vision of building A Better Ghana,” it added.
