Mills sends condolences on Mrs Tsvangirai’s death

Accra, March 7, GNA – President John Atta Mills has sent condolences to the Zimbabwean government on the death of Mrs Susan Tsvangirai, wife of Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, following a car crash involving the couple last Friday. Susan was killed when a truck veered into the opposite lane and slammed into the Premier’s car. She was thrown out of the car and was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.

In his message, President Mills said the government and the people of Ghana were deeply saddened by the death of Mrs Tsvangirai, according to a release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “We wish to convey to you, Mr President, and through you to the people of Zimbabwe, particularly the bereaved family, our heartfelt condolence,” said the release, signed by Mr Kingsley Karimu, Supervising Director, Africa and Regional Cooperation Department of the Ministry. Mr Tsvangirai left hospital on Saturday after he was treated of some head and neck wounds he suffered as a result of the crash.
