Mills reminded of promise to the Volta Region

Ho, April 10, GNA – Mama Attratoh II, Queen of Ho-Dome, has reminded President John Atta Mills of his promise to give the Volta Region its fair share of development and said she was not happy about the region’s pace of progress.

Mama Attratoh, the Chairman of the Board of the Ho Nurses Training College, said this at the handing over of solar cookers and a motorbike donated by the India High Commission to the School. She said the pace of development in the region did not seem to match the people’s expectation.

“We are witnessing the development projects in other parts of the country and wonder what is happening in the Volta Region,” she said. Mama Attratoh expressed disappointment at the inadequate resources at the School and said, 93I am very unhappy at the pace of development”. “We in Ho, Volta Regional capital, are not seeing anything”, she said. President Mills in February cut the sod for work to begin on a University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in the region and major roads in the region are also being tackled.
