Mills introduces two candidates at Breman Asikuma

Breman Asikuma (C/R), Sept. 2, GNA-The flag bearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor John Evans Atta Mills on Friday introduced the two candidates who have filled their nomination to contest the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa (AOB) constituency seat on the ticket of the party to a large crowd of the party supporters at Breman Asikuma. The candidates are Mrs. Georgina Nkrumah Boah, an educationist at Tema and Mr. Anthony Robert Frimpong a private legal practitioner. They were the only candidates who filed their nomination papers at the close of nominations on August 15.

Prof. Atta Mills advised the polling station executives to elect any of the candidates marketable to win the seat from NPP during the elections.

He said the NPP government has disappointed Ghanaians after given them the mandate to rule the nation and have therefore decided to vote back the NDC to power in the 2008 elections. He urged supports of the party to work harder to win more supports for the part since victory is won with more votes. The NDC flag bearer urged any of the candidates who would lose the primaries to forget about it and join hands with his colleagues to campaign vigorously for the success of the party. Mrs. Georgina Nkrumah in an interview with the Ghana News Agency later said, when she is elected as the candidate, she would work extra harder to organize more supporters, especially women in the area to vote for the party.

She said her intention to represent the people in parliament was, among others to fight and improve the lot of women in the area. Mr. Anthony Robert Frimpong, on his part said he would revive the grassroots structures of the party in the area to function properly and work assiduously to wrest power from the NPP in 2008 elections, if given the mandate.
