Mills fan club, DPP congratulate VEEP

Sunyani, May 5 GNA – The Brong Ahafo branch of the Atta Mills Fan Club has sent a congratulatory message to the vice-president, Prof. John Evans Atta Mills on his election as the flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the December elections.

A message signed by the Regional Chairman of the Club, Mr. Kwabena Amo-Badu said Prof. Mills has distinguished himself to the admiration of all and expressed the hope that Ghanaians would give him the nod during the December polls.

“We cherish the hope that the Almighty God will give you wisdom, courage, long life and shower his blessings on you to lead this great nation as the first elected president of the new millennium”. He said the Brong Ahafo branch of the club would not relent on its efforts to continue its vigorous campaign to educate the people about the capabilities of Prof. Mills.

In another development, the Brong Ahafo branch of the Democratic People’s Party (DPP) has also sent a congratulatory message to Prof. Mills. The Regional Chairman of the party, Mr. R. J. Damoah told newsmen at Sunyani that the country is blessed to have such a distinguished academic and statesman and, therefore, urged Ghanaians to ensure that he is voted into power. He said the popular support that Prof. Mills enjoys among all the three members of the Progressive Alliance – NDC, DPP and EAGLE – is testimony of how he has endeared himself to the people as the vice-president.

Mr Damoah assured him of the support of the DPP and said that the branch would work tirelessly to ensure that the alliance wins the 2000 elections in the region.
