Mills’ Family: Stop politicising late president’s death

Mr. Awortwi Pratt, spokesperson for the family of late President John Atta Mills has pleaded with sections of the public to stop reading all sorts of meanings into the death of the late Professor, adding that such behavior only deepens the sorrows of the family.

The spokesperson made the call in the wake of media reports charging the President and the government to run an autopsy on the death of the late President to calm the nerves of Ghanaians who are eager to know the cause of the former President’s death.

The aftermath of the death of the former President has seen notable people demanding an inquest into the cause of death of the President as they suspect the cause of death wasn’t natural.

Speaking on Atinka FM on Friday, the Mr. Pratt said the family had gone through a lot since the death of the good old professor.

“We believe that the Former President died of a natural cause and we don’t doubt the doctor’s report. Anytime the people call for an inquest into his death, we get saddened as it reminds us of his tragic death,” he added.

Mr. Pratt also called on other political parties to stop politicising the death of Professor Mills, adding, “the late President was a true statesman and his death struck Ghanaians home and abroad and so politicising the issue in a way opens old wounds.”
