Mills Drives Final Nail In STX Coffin

President John Evans Atta Mills may have driven the final nail in the coffin on the controversial STX Housing project when he stated on Monday morning at the Third Edition of the Editors Forum that his administration cannot wait any longer for the boardroom wrangling between the Ghanaian company and its Korean counterpart to cease before construction of housing units across the country, starting with 30,000 units for the security services begins.

“We cannot wait…I’ve therefore directed that we look for alternatives…We’re looking for alternatives…,” President Mills said at his annual interaction with Editors and Senior Journalists at the Osu, Castle.

Ever since he (Mills) cut the sod on Thursday January 27, 2011 at the Police Training Depot at Tesano in Accra for the commencement of the project, boardroom wrangling between the Ghanaian company and their Korean partners had ensured that not a single block has been laid even though a land at Kwabenya in Accra was purportedly cleared for that purpose.
