Mills’ Death: Ghana has lost a great man – Young Patriots

The Young Patriots, a youth group with affiliations towards the opposition New Patriotic Party, has called off its planned string of demonstrations in view of the death of the Ghana’s third president in the fourth Republic, Prof. John Evans Atta Mills.

The group, in a statement released and copied to RadioXYZonline.com on Wednesday said: “The membership of Young Patriots has received, with a heavy heart, the sudden passing of our dear President, H.E. Prof Evans Atta Mills which sad event occurred at the 37 Military hospital. This is at the moment when he was needed most.”

The statement said “Ghana has lost a great man and the void that has been created cannot be filled.”

“In solidarity with Mrs. Naadu Mills, the membership of the National Democratic Congress and indeed the entire people of Ghana, we wish to announce the suspension of the series of demonstrations to be undertaken by Young Patriots ad infinitum,” the group said.

The group is therefore calling on all Ghanaians to remain calm, and pray for God’s blessing for the soul of the late President Ghana as a whole.**
