Mills commends Stars’ victory over Sudan

Abuja, June 21, GNA – President John Evans Atta Mills on Sunday sent his congratulations to the Black Stars on their sterling performance that clinched them victory over Sudan to inch them up towards their goal of reaching both the 2010 African Nations Cup and World Cup finals.

The Stars beat their Sudanese counterparts 2-0 in one of the qualifying matches at Omdurman on Saturday.

“The Black Stars made us proud in yesterday’s match. As a nation, we’re very proud of their performance,” President Mills said in a joyous mood and adding that, “I wish them a happy Black Stars day.” In a congratulatory message to the Stars, the President who has arrived in Abuja for a Summit of Head of States of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), expressed strong faith in the Stars ability of making it to the finals and ultimately vie with the best to eventually win next the World Cup.

President Mills urged the Stars to give off their best and ensure Ghana chalks more successes in their next games.
