Mills commended for nominating Mumuni

Kumasi, Sept 24, GNA – The Kumasi Metropolitan Co-ordinating Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has commended Professor John Evans Atta Mills, the NDC presidential candidate for nominating Alhaji Mohammed Mumuni as his running mate for the December polls.

The committee described the choice as not only a prudent one but also a step in the right direction.

The committee made the commendation at its monthly meeting held in Kumasi on Thursday to map out more pragmatic campaign strategies for the general elections and to also express their appreciation and support for the choice of Alhaji Mumuni as running mate.

The committee is an embodiment of NDC executive members of all the constituencies in the Kumasi metropolis.

NDC parliamentary candidates in the Kumasi metropolis also attended the meeting.

While commending Professor Atta Mills for the prudent choice, the committee also congratulated Alhaji Mumuni, who is currently the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kumbungu for not rejecting the offer but accepting it in “good faith and with good grace”.

Flanked by the NDC constituency chairmen and the parliamentary candidates, Mr Alex Sawyer Attivor, chairman of the committee, expressed the readiness of members of the party in the metropolis to co-operate with the presidential candidate and his running mate “in the battle for victory in the coming elections”.

“As a former Minister for Employment and Social Welfare in the NDC regime, Alhaji Mumuni has the experience and is already a marketable candidate and all that was now needed to chalk victory is for us to unite and rally solidly round him and the presidential candidate”, Mr Attivor stressed.
