Mills apologies to EC Chief Director

Accra, Oct. 21, GNA – Professor John Evans Atta Mills, Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), on Thursday apologised to the Electoral Commission (EC) for recent comments he made about the Commission.

Prof. Mills rendered the apology to the Commission, especially to the Chief Director, Mr Kwame Damoah-Agyeman, after filing his nomination papers to formally register to contest the December 7 presidential elections as the candidate of the NDC.

He told Mr Damoah-Agyeman: “I am sorry for comments made about you in particular during my recent press conference…it was based on uninformed information.

“I am sorry for any inconvenience and embarrassment you might have suffered from the comments.”

Mr Damoah-Agyeman accepted the apology.

The NDC Presidential Candidate at a recent press conference stated that the Chief Director was more than 60 years old and should have been on retirement.
