Military Says No Weapon is Missing

The Ghana Armed Forces Public Relations Directorate has reacted to a story carried in an Accra paper that some 150 AK 47s are missing from the armory of the military for which some soldiers are being held.

The story according to the directorate is false and misleading. As the official mouthpiece of the military, a statement signed by the Director of the DPR, Lt. Col. EWK Nibo, queried the paper for not seeking the veracity of the story from it before going to press. No soldier, the statement assured, is being held as alleged by the paper.
