..Out-going CDS hands over to in-coming colleague
Accra, May 29, GNA- The out-going Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General Seth Obeng has urged officers and men of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) to continue to give their loyalty and support to the State, the Constitution, the people of Ghana and the new High Command of the armed forces.

A statement issued on Sunday by the Directorate of Public Relations of the GAF said Lt Gen. Obeng was speaking at a ceremony at which he formally introduced Maj. Gen. Joseph Boakye Danquah as the new CDS to the Directors General and Directors at the general headquarters of the GAF.

It said the ceremony took place after both Generals had signed the Handing/Taking over notes.

Lt. Gen. Obeng, the statement said, noted that the armed forces had received highly complimentary remarks from both government and the public during the last four years and attributed this to the support the High Command of the GAF had received from the rank and file of the armed forces.

He expressed his appreciation to all troops, the civilian employees and all the security services in the country for the part they played during his tenure of office, adding that their efforts contributed to the giant strides made in changing the image of the armed forces.

The statement said Maj. Gen. Danquah expressed gratitude to Lt. Gen. Obeng and the outgoing Service Commanders for the good and excellent leadership the gave to the GAF.

He acknowledged the tremendous support given Lt Gen. Obeng and wished him and the Service Commanders well in their future endeavours. Maj. Gen. Danquah asked for teamwork and total support from the staff for Ghana to enjoy peace, stability and development.
