Mike Ocquaye Hospitalized In UK

The Member of Parliament for Dome- Kwabenya constituency, Prof. Mike Ocquaye, is reported to be seriously ill and hospitalized in the UK.

The Herald cannot at the moment say what ailment the New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP, who is also the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, is suffering from. Whiles some reports claim that he has a hip and knee dislocation, others say he is paralyzed and had to be rushed to a hospital in London at the expense of the state.

Reports say Mr. Ocquaye was take ill shortly after the burial of late President, John Evans Atta Mills. He has not declared to vie for the Dome-Kwabenya seat in the December elections, hence the substitution of Ms Stella Adwoa Sarfo, a lawyer by profession and mistress of Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the NPP MP for Assin North, in his stead.

Attempts by The Herald to get more on Mr. Ocquaye have proved futile, but our sources say he has not been seen in the house for some time now. The Herald wishes him a speedy recovery.
