Mike Hammah promises his constituency more development

Mr. Mike Allen Hammah, Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, and Member of Parliament for Effutu, has assured the people of the area of his continued efforts to help develop the municipality.

The minister said since 1996 when he became a Parliamentarian he had been able to lead in the construction of a number of development projects in the constituency.

He mentioned some of them as school blocks, expansion of electricity to the rural areas, establishment of the Education Trust Fund, payment of examination fees of students, provision of school furniture, reshaping of roads, and the provision of tools and equipment to men and women to set up their businesses.

Mr. Hammah gave the assurance when addressing members of the Team of Popular Front (TPF), a youth group, at a forum in Winneba.

The forum was to interact with the MP on issues concerning the welfare of the youth in Effutu and the way forward.

Mr. Hammah said 33 million US dollars have been approved by T.C. Turkish Eximbank, Turkey, to the Ghana Water Company for rehabilitation and expansion of the Effutu Municipal Water Project.

The Minister said the project formed part of the Better Ghana Agenda being pursued by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to improve the livelihood of the people.

Mr. Hammah urged the youth not to allow themselves to be influenced into indulging in actions that could undermine the security of the nation.

The MP advised the youth to desist from immoral acts, drug abuse, and other negative tendencies that could jeopardize their future.

He asked the leadership of the group to let transparency, accountability and integrity be their watchword to enable the association to achieve its aims and objectives.

Mr. Hammah appealed to the people to vote massively for President John Dramani Mahama and for him (Hammah) as the MP during the December 7 elections.
