MFWA churns out inaccurate info – Koku Anyidoho

The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) will be doing itself good if it gives out accurate information in the monthly reports on the use of indecent language by politicians on the airwaves, Koku Anyidoho, a deputy general secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), has said.

The NDC recorded the highest use of indecent language expressions, coming above the NPP, which had been the party at the top of the indecent language campaign league table with a total number of 49 out of 129 indecent expressions.

But reacting to this latest research by the MFWA in an interview with Class 91.3 FM’s Emefa Apawu, Friday July 22, Mr Anyidoho said: “If the Media Foundation for West Africa wants us to take these monthly reports seriously, they will help us if they give us more accurate information.”

He added: “Somebody hosts his programme, he doesn’t openly brandish an NDC card, he may be speaking in the direction of the NDC but that doesn’t make him an NDC official.

So, there may be some programmes and some radio stations who will have their own things that they are doing, but when you want to do the thing, [research], don’t come and put it there as if it is the NDC officialdom.

“Which NDC official is there? Is it me or my general secretary or my national organiser or who? If you are doing some research, please be fair and do the categorisation very well.

“…Maybe going forward, they must be more specific then it helps all of us as we engage in the discourse.”
