Saltpond (C/R), Dec. 9, GNA – The Mfantseman District Teachers’ Co-operative Credit Union has presented food items and toiletries worth about three million cedis to the Children’s Ward of the Saltpond District Hospital. Mr Thomas Abakah, Chairman of the Union, who led a team of members to present the items, said the gesture formed part of activities marking the celebration of 50 years of the Credit Union in Ghana. The items included rice, sugar, milk, and soap. He said it was a social responsibility of the Union to bring some relief to persons afflicted with diseases, especially children. Mr Abakah said it was the prayer of the members that those on admission would get well soon to join their parents and siblings at home.

Mr J B Abaidoo-Abbam, out-going Hospital Administrator, received the items on behalf of the Hospital and expressed gratitude to the Union for the gesture.

He assured the members that the items would be used to bring some relief to the children on admission at the Hospital.
