Mfantseman Assembly donates motorbikes to school supervisors

Saltpond (C/R), Oct. 13, GNA – The Mfantseman District Assembly has donated two Yamaha motorbikes valued at 57 million cedis to the District Directorate of Education to facilitate the mobility of circuit supervisors in the area.

Presenting the keys to Miss Vivian Etroo, District Director of Education, Mr. Robert Quainoo-Arthur, the District Chief Executive (DCE), said the Assembly was concerned about the falling standard of education in the area and was making every effort to improve on it. The DCE said new school buildings were being constructed, in addition to the capitation grant as part of measures to promote formal education in the district.

=93It will be painful if all these efforts will not yield results because the teacher has not put in his or her best,=94 he stated. He promised that the Assembly would continue to donate more motorbikes to the Education Directorate to enable it to cover all eight circuits in the district.

Mr Quainoo-Arthur urged the circuit supervisors to let the gesture motivate them to work harder. He also advised the directorate to ensure regular maintenance of the bikes.
