Metro Mass Transport adjust fares

Accra, June 10, GNA- The Management of Metro Mass Transit Limited (MMT), would from Thursday, June 11, adjust its fares upwards, on its 280 routes nationwide, to reflect the recent fuel price adjustment by the National Petroleum Authority.

A press statement issued by Martin Afram, Acting Managing Director, said the adjustment was intended to reduce the gap between the fares charged by the company and other operators, following the release of new fares by the Ghana Road Transport Co-ordinating Council. He assured commuters that the fares would remain affordable and far below competition.

“Our cherished commuters should look out for the displayed fares in the buses and at the various bus terminus,” he said.

“School children from primary to junior high school in uniform, will continue to enjoy free ride, to and from school on all metro mass transit buses. “MMT guarantees its cherished passengers of safe, reliable and affordable means of transport.” Mr Afram appealed to customers to pay the appropriate fares and always insist on their tickets.
