Assin Foso (C/R) April 11, GNA- The Superintendent Minister in charge of the Foso Circuit of the Methodist Church, the Very Reverend Theophilus Kwame Anderson has expressed concern that despite the over 170 years of the church existence, it had been slow in growing in numbers due to the slow pace of spreading the gospel.
He has therefore tasked the congregation to intensify the propagation of the gospel to convert more people to Christianity. Rev Anderson made the call, when he delivered a sermon to climax a four-day conference of the Cape Coast Diocesan Singing Band, on the theme: ” Making Disciples Of All Nations- The Role Of Singing Bands”, at Assin Foso at the weekend.
He appealed to members of the 20 circuits, which constituted the singing band, to emulate the example of the followers of Christ who talked about Jesus on their way to Emmaus, “advertising” the name of Jesus in all their endeavours.
A guest of honour at the function, Okumanin Professor Obiri Yeboah, Omanhene of Afutuakwa Traditional Area, asked members of the Church to remain faithful to God and resist any attempt by any person or group of persons to influence them to pursue selfish interests.
Mr Kwabena Karikari Apau, Assin North District Chief Executive, said the National Health Insurance Scheme would take off in the District in June this year and appealed to people who were yet to register with the scheme to do so in time. 11 April 05
