Methodist Synod to open May 5

Sekondi, April 29, GNA – The 2005 Synod of the Sekondi Diocese of the Methodist Church would open on Thursday, May 5 at Effiakuma near Takoradi.

The Synod is on the theme, “170 Years of Methodism in Ghana: Fulfilling Our God Given Obligation”.

120 Reverend Ministers and 40 observers will attend the five-day synod. This was contained in a press release signed by the Very Reverend Daniel De-Graft Brace, Synod Secretary of the Diocese.

It said Synod is the highest decision making body in the diocese and would receive and discuss reports from the Education and Youth, Administration, Ministries, Finance and Development and Social responsibility committees of the church.

The release said a ministerial and lay spirituality retreat, women, youth and men’s rallies will also be organised as part of activities of the synod. 29 April 05
