Methodist Diocese of Somanya inaugurated

Somanya, Dec 1, GNA- The Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Robert Aboagye-Mensah, on Sunday called on Christians in position of trust to seek directions from God in whatever they do to help change the fortunes of the country.

The Rt Rev Dr Aboagye-Mensah made the call at the inauguration of the Somanya Diocese of the Methodist Church and the induction of Rt. Rev. William Abeiku Blankson and Mrs Mercy Lawson as the Bishop and Lay Chairman of the Diocese, respectively on Sunday.

The inauguration makes the Somanya Diocese the 15th in the country and the third in the Eastern Region.

The Somanya Methodist Circuit was elevated to become the headquarters of Volta Mission Circuit of the Church in the early thirties and at the time of its inauguration as a Diocese, it has six circuits under it comprising Ada, Akosombo, Akuse, Dodowa, Somanya and Ada Foah.
